Maureen W. is the founder and President of Applied Business Services, Inc., since 1981, providing expertise in Accounting, Fundraising and Customer Relation Management software design, implementation planning and management. She has extensive education and experience in Accounting having received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Accounting at American University. Prior to starting ABS, she was a Controller for a service organization. Her special interests are in the Not-for-Profit community as she actively volunteers at various organizations around the area. Over the last three decades, Maureen has made it her objective to assist small to mid-size businesses, government, and nonprofits improve their business system processes, enabling them to achieve their goals more successfully. Helping clients streamline their workflow processes through efficient automation tools is her expertise.
David S. has been a key Applied Business Services, Inc. employee for over 20 years as a technical support team leader. His expertise includes integration, implementation and design of financial software and he has completed thousands of new system installations and upgrades. He is an integral part of the team in designing and programming numerous custom applications including the Budget Matrix module that integrates with financial General Ledger software, a Direct Deposit module, and a Fixed Assets module for TRAVERSE, which were later sold to the manufacturer, Open Systems, Inc. In addition, he is a certified Implementation Specialist with TRAVERSE, Microsoft Dynamics, OSAS, and SAGE ABRA, as well as a certified application developer for TRAVERSE and Microsoft. Before joining the ABS team, David was the Controller for a large manufacturing firm. His technical skills include: VBA, .net, Transact-SQL, Business Basic, ADO/DAO, MS Access, SQL Server, Windows and Linux Operating systems.
Sharon C. is an Implementation Specialist and Certified Trainer with Applied Business Services, Inc., with more than 15 years of experience working with the nonprofit sector. She coordinates and manages software implementations for small, medium and large organizations. Sharon runs the ABS certified training center and teaches classroom, internet and custom training classes on a variety of Financial and Fundraising software packages. Prior to joining ABS, she served as a Controller for a mid-size health care corporation for over 10 years, and as an accountant for a government contractor. In addition, she is a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management. She has supported many nonprofits in establishing and streamlining their accounting systems.
